Here you will you will see pictures and accounts of fairy doors beyond Ann Arbor.
As well as a few local doors that others know more about than I.

SIGHTINGS and other evidence is on a separate page.
Not so much an "urban fairy", but very wonderful! This photo was sent to me on July 24, 2006. After a couple e-mails I got some more information:
Maelle, who is the steward to this magic door, is my granddaughter, who was here on a visit when she wrote you and found the "room" for the door underneath some large roots of an oak tree.

I forwarded your email to her, but it may be some time before she has an opportunity to read it.

She would be thrilled, I know, had hopes! to have her fairy door on your web site. Door is located in a fairy-filled, marshy area, outside of Stevensville, Michigan.

Thank you,

Judy Cassidy

I heard about a "fairy door" at another business...
And sure enough there was this miniature door for VERY magical and/or THIN beings.
<<<
When viewed from the side, one can see that the space behind the door must be less than a half inch deep...or...perhaps...a transdimensional space??? I know that carpenter bees make their holes about a body length deep then turn perpendicular. Though the door seems inordinately
TALL for a carpenter bee.
Here are some more exciting finds from Zaneville, Ohio:
Back in July 2006, Lynda Sharrer sent me this in an e-mail:
"I am so taken with the fairy doors
I have four grandchildren and have always taught them about the fairies in my garden.
We have a resident fairy called "the banister lady". When we moved to this house ....the top of the banister came off and I wouln't let my husband fix it.
Our oldest granddaughter grew up with the banister lady leaving her small gifts and candy. She is now 14 and our other granchildren are enjoying it too. We know she is a fairy and lives in there and I would love to have a fairy door. After seeing your web page and showing it to my young grandchildren, we spent all evening looking around the house both inside and out to see if we could find the fairy door..."
August 23 Lynda began sending photos of what her grandchildren had discovered:
James age 6 at Banister's
Kate age 4 at Banister's
Details of

Banister's
Gifts, Toys & Candy

More recently dicoveries have been made outside as well.
August 27, 2006, Lynda sent these pictures and wrote:
"... We found this door in the backyard. The fairies have been really
busy. The door opens and inside it's like a garden shed. There is a sweater hanging on a hook, garden tools and pots, and another door that must go inside the tree."
This weekend (September 26, 2006)
I recieved an e-mail from a family in Royal Oak, the Gulocks:

We have evidence of migration of the urban fairies as far as Royal Oak, MI. In November of 2005 one appeared in our living room near the heating vent. A few days after the door appeared, a small mailbox appeared on the door, as if to say the fairies were friendly and willing to listen to communications from us. We left them gifts-- a small glass stone, a piece of an amethyst geode, and a poem. This poem was written by the boy who lives here, Evan (age 9). He writes:

"Welcome fairies, welcome all,
we welcome your door, oh so small.
You can live safely at our house,
we don't have a cat, a dog, or a mouse.
We hope you stay forever more
and teach us about your fairy lore."

At Christmas, the fairies decorated their door with a wreath one night when we were sleeping.
