The year is 2007. The school break has provided some time for Kathleen to focus on writing and editing... in the midst of holiday frenzy; shopping, wrapping, cooking, entertaining, family time... still lots to do. Very exciting and stressful. The girls have been helping to proof, they are both very good readers.
The the Volksmarch event is fast approaching! The "march" (walk) is sponsored by the Washtenaw Wanderers Volkssporting Club, planned for January 7, 2007 downtown Ann Arbor. "Walk Among the Urban Fairies, Dragons, and Trolls of Ann Arbor" Still no sign of a new "show" at the Ark. I wonder if it's a touring fairy troup? Of course no one has reported seeing a "show" so we still don't know the content; music, dance, performance, poetry slams... ? |

update; Snow! (kinda-sorta) The Volksmarch went well (in my assessment); basically dry and mild weather. I got some new pictures of fairy droppings during the "march". I cannot say how much is due to the "marchers", themselves. There was a bit of "TV" coverage (kinda-sorta) of the urban fairies. Also a serendipitous sighting of a pair of fairy finders. ~jbw |

I took some excellent shots of "flat fairies". I built them a page of their own, though the photos will have to wait... sorry, I have drawing to do. On top of that I have posted a collection of 5 urban fairy drawings by Amina formerly age 9. NOTE: The Sitemap always has the latest revisions and updates dated. ~jbw |

Last night Delaney & I went downtown to Sweetwaters. We also saw new tickets (finally) at The Ark! I got MORE pictures of the Flat Fairies that are following me around! They have confirmed one theory I had about urban fairies... and raise new questions.

I had heard that the fairy reading room at the Ann Arbor District Library had been damaged again. I went to check it out yesterday, it has been repaired. Interestingly, there were also a group of flat fairies flitting about. Though there were a bunch of them, I was pretty sure it was not the entire contingent. This morning it was confirmed by a phone call from Lori Wintermyer, the owner of Ann Arbor Framing Company, a few "naughty" flat fairies had remained behind at the Frame Shop. I got a chance to see the urban fairies mentioned in; "Ann Arbor Region TRAVELHOST" magazine (Dec/Jan issue) and "Vistitors Guide, 2007 Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti Area Visitors Guide". Those are most often found in hotels. I generally don't stay in hotels locally... I had to make a special trip to get copies. ~jbw |

A "snow day"? Where are my false teeth? "Back when I was a kid they never closed the schools unless a glacier came through town along WITH a herd of mastodon!" Kathleen met with more publishers, yesterday. We gave them a quick tour of some of the doors and made an interesting discovery at Sweetwaters. They also collected ONE binary code ticket apiece at the Ark. I split up The Ark page into two, hoping to reduce "load time" as it was getting VERY long. I will continue to do that and maybe some editing of images now and again... except I LIKE pictures! ~jbw |

The visiting Flat Fairies appeared to have flown home. However they did visit some more Ann Arbor urban fairies before departing. ~jbw |

Kathleen's book has gone one full round with a professional editor... to be followed by another (quicker?) round. Mine (less wordy, more visual) is at a similar state, but still requiring more illustrations, tweeking & polish. ~jbw |
