Peaceable Kingdom is a fantasic gift store! There is something for most anyone. My wife and I have always loved shopping there. I am not suprised that this would be a place intriguing and inviting to urban fairies.

Urban Fairy door appeared

This particular location is especially cool. The fairies have set up a "store" of their own inside. I call it a store, but there appears to be little commerce going on. They only accumulate items.

It has been my contention that the fairies do not have any concept of property or any business sense what-so-ever. They certainly do not keep regular business hours. From what I have seen the fairies have attention spans to match their size.

The shelves and cases are loaded with stuff!
There are; birdskulls, wire nuts, coins, toys, baby teeth, a crayfish claw, a ring, an earring, acorns, a hand-made book about fairies, a rubber monkey, a plastic cocktail monkey, an origami crane, an egg, tickets, magnet construction pieces, a carved frog, push pins, 3 little pigs, a bigger pig, an enameled brass Ra, rocks & minerals, a small globe, 2 feathers, a plastic apple, an enamel tray and coffee pot, a Hebrew prayer, plastic springs, stickers, buttons, a safety pin, a weensie lizard, a silver pitcher, 2 hand sewn sacks, a wrapped present, some micro pom-poms, sea shells, A paper parasol, a beaded ring (crown?), beads, keys, a marble, round tiles, a rubber bee.......
AND the pair of miniature socks!

The stairs go down into the basement.

The fairy "store"is considerably more crowded than the last interior photo! Many of the dropping from this and other locations can be seen in here....

...including the buckets I saw OUTSIDE earlier in the same day!

I was visiting Peaceable Kingdom after Saint Patrick's Day and noticed 2 new sets of windows on the opposite side of the store from the originals. I was sure I heard some noise, but the space was quite dark. When I illuminated the space with my fairy-finder-flashlight... I got quite a surprise! I thought I had spotted my first fairies. I took some pictures which reveal something almost as curious.

In my excitement the first shot came out blurry.

The next, showed me that they weren't fairies, though some of them have wings! They were perfectly still.

When I uploaded them to my computer... in this foto it looks like the fella in the yellow hard hat has moved!

I am pretty sure the blur is from MY jiggling rather than his.

• Hmmmm... A Doozer™, some Fisher-Price guys and some trucks...

quite curious.

So... I was checking out the Cheese nips and rubbery glow-in-the-dark fairy droppings at Peaceable Kingdom when I notice the vandalism!
Somebody kicked in the fairy door and split the wood.

After considerable wear and tear.and an actual TEAR (not crying, but ripping) the window shade had to be replaced.
The new one appears to be of better material and even has a pull ring.

HALLOWEEN 2009
A very kind, talented and generous fairy finder in Texas sent some wonderful sculpts for the urban fairies this Halloween!
